Nothing will make the runners in your life happier than some holiday-sponsored fuel for their runs. While they are busy exploring the world by foot, searching for the best viewpoints and finding the hidden gems within the cities, these five gifts will make their journeys all the more enjoyable.
Well, duh! Every runner needs a good pair of running shoes. I love Saucony running shoes. They are quality shoes that are supportive no matter the terrain - city or trails, these shoes got your back and your feet. Around the holidays, runners are usually in need of a new pair of shoes after all clocking their fall mileage in their last pair of sneaks.
2. Insulated Tights
When the temperatures are dropping, motivations to get outside and move also tend to drop. But not with nice, insulated tights that guarantee warmth.! Not only do they keep you snug, but these tights also have an extra storage pocket for keys or some cash for those that also end your run at a new coffee shop or bookstore that you have been wanting to check out!
A crucial winter item for not just the runners in your life, but also for anyone ready to brave the weather. They keep your hands warm and contain the touch-screen technology so your fingers never have to suffer when trying to change a song or send a message.
4. Quarter zip
The quarter zip-up sweatshirt is not just a necessity, but also a fan favorite. Under Armour’s pullover is insulated to prevent freezing sweat while also keeping runners warm.
Running is one of the best ways to travel - whether it's within the city you are living in or when you are out exploring the world. Last winter, I spent eight weeks traversing Europe and in order to really see its cities, I would lock my bag up at the train station and would run to all of the cities’ main sites. This winter, while exploring my new home in New York City, I plan on staying warm with everything above as I hit the streets for some exploring.
Here at Sub-Stances, we all love to bake - especially near the holidays. We find baking to be one of the most therapeutic activities. Serving up sweets to your loved ones is a treat that you both can enjoy.
So, for that baker in your life, here are some items to fill a gift box for the one you love!
1. Rich Vanilla from Madagascar— an aroma that will fill your house and one that bakers always desire to have more of.
2. Marble Rolling Pins are the best. They are heavier and more effective than generic wooden pins, plus they look nicer too. Your baker will be very excited to put this rolling pin to use!
3. Snowflake oven-mit, dish towel, placemats, and pot holder to help your loved ones feel extra festive and snug as they serve their warm winter treats.
This wallet is perfect for looking good while traveling. It has space for cards, cash, and even your phone. This wallet truly has it all and comes in lots of fun colors. Heck, you could give everyone the same gift and they all would be satisfied!
It's great for holding all those credit cards, new gift cards from friends, and is secure for visiting countries or new places that you might be unsure about.

Here at Sub-Stances one of our passions is travel. It opens new doors and new friendship. Not to mention, the best stories always come from adventures. We love to travel, to see the world and to always explore. Below, we have comprised a list of travel must-haves, and gift ideas for your fellow travel-lovers!
1. Travel charger and universal adapters
Every time I travel, I seem to forget about needing an adapter for that county. This universal adapter and charger are two things that have saved me, more than once! Having a back-up charger is always a necessity - especially if you are young, traveling hostel style, and running from train to train. You never when you will find your next outlet, so having a fully charged backup battery, can really save the day!
2. Blanket Scarf
I went backpacking last winter break and I would not have made it without this blanket scarf. It was the best gift I’ve ever received. I used it as a blanket, a pillow, a rolling device for packing fragile things, cuddling, and of course, a scarf. Scarves keep you cozy, can be used for a variety of things and styles, and are easily packed!
3. Clean Canteen
Every traveler needs a water-bottle that they can rely on, that keeps things cool and is easy to carry around. Clean Canteen water bottles are the best given that they not only keep your water cold, or your hot drink hot for extended periods of time, but are also fit easily in a backpack. A water bottle truly is a gift that keeps giving. Every time your travel buddy takes a sip out of their new water bottle, they will have you in mind!
4. Polaroid Camera
Documenting your travels has to happen, but having a hard copy is even better. In a day and in an age where we have everything on our computer or phone, holding a physical picture makes the memories so much more previous. Plus, there is no better room decoration than a series of polaroid pictures.
